Mustangs Announce 2019 Coaching Staff

EAGLE, ID – The Eagle High is pleased to announce the 2019 Mustang coaching staff. Head Varsity Coach Katie Ware will be returning for her fourth season coaching Varsity and her fifth season overall with the Mustangs. Dan Oliver who served as Eagle High’s JV coach in 2016 and 2017 while serving as a volunteer coach in 2018 has been promoted to Assistant Varsity Coach for the 2019 season. Coaches Di-Yuan Tzeng and Percy Chan will return as volunteer varsity coaches.  Eagle High announces two new additions to the Mustang staff.  Sonya Fox will serve as the JV Head Coach and George Kovacs as a Varsity Volunteer Coach for Eagle High.


Fox has spent nine years as a teaching pro in Maryland and Arizona. Fox coached four years as a boys Varsity coach two years, 2002-03, with MIddleton High School in Maryland and two years, 2006-07 with Frederick High School in Maryland.Fox also served two years as the Head Coach for the Women’s NCAA Division III McDaniel College in Maryland. She was awarded the Junior Team Tennis Program of the Year with the Mid-Atlantic Region.


Kovacs will serve as a volunteer coach for the Mustang Varsity team. He served as a varsity assistant coach with Rocky Mountain High in 2018. Kovacs taught for Robert Landsorp at the Landsdorp Academy working with players such as Pete Sampras, Lindsey Davenport and Justin Gimelstob. Kovacs competed at Cal Lutheran a DIII University where he competed at no. 1 doubles and no. 5 & no. 6 singles. Prior to Cal Lutheran Kovacs played for El Camino Junior College for two years competing at the no. 1 singles and no. 1 doubles position.
