Tzeng Leads the Way as Mustang Boys Finish 2nd at State

BOISE, Idaho – Junior Adam Tzeng captured his third state title as an individual (2015-boys doubles, 2016-boys singles, 2017-boys singles) to lead the Mustangs to their fourth second-place finish in Eagle High history. Eagle took second with 35 points, just 1/2 point behind first place Boise High. Tzeng only dropped one game in the championship final to Hillcrest’s Kyler Hartman throughout the entire State competition.

Seniors Jake Hirst and Brandon Smith finished fourth in boys doubles. Hirst finished fourth in mixed in 2016. Kennidi Amorebieta and Kaden Williams finished fourth in mixed doubles this season. Amorebieta captures her third fourth place title (2015-mixed doubles, 2016-girls doubles, 2017-mixed doubles). Seniors Talen Brunson and Riley Cameron also competed for the Mustangs at State in boys doubles. Eagle’s girls team finished 11th with 4 points.
